Gurbani about Sandhya Tarpan(Brahmin Ritual time and water offerings)
You participate in reciting the Gayatri, praising the deities/devte through their mantra’s, do Anganyaas (touching the heart, head, arms, eyes and other limbs while reciting a Mantra &/or snapping fingers and clapping hands) and participate in Sandhhyaa/ritual times and Tarpan/water offering to ancestors but in the Sikh Dharam - this type of Sandhhiya is forbidden. Our practices include only concentrating on that Vaheguru and remembering that Almighty Vaheguru through Gurbani, as per:
Aehaa Sa[n]dhhiaa ParvaaN[u] Hai Jith[u] Har[i] Prabh[u] Maeraa Chith[i] Aavai
That Sandhiya [ritual prayer time] is approved of which my Vaheguru Ji are remembered
Har[i] Sio[u] Preeth[i] Oopjai Maa-iaa Moh[u] Jalaavai
When love for Vaheguru pours out and the attachment to Maya [Creation and the world, etc] is burned...
Gur Parsaadhee Dhubidhhaa Marai Manooaa Asthhir[u] Sa[n]dhhiaa Karae Veechaar[u]
Through Guru Maharaj’s Blessings, the duality dies, the mind becomes stable,And the ritual prayer times turn into divine reflection/contemplation
naanak Sa[n]dhhiaa Karai Man-mukhee Jee-o[u] na Tikai Mar[i] Ja[n]mai Ho-i Khuaar[u]
Guru Sahib says: the man-mukh [only thinks about and through the self of the mind] may conduct their timely ritual prayers but does not find stability and their lifetime is spent ruined...
(Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Amar-daas Sahib Ji in Bihaagarraa Ki Vaar, Ang 553)
