Karrhaa Parshaad

Karrhaa Parshaad
Karrhaa Parshaad/Degh offered to Guru Maharaj

Karaah Prasaad is the most respected treasure of langar. Guru Sahib especially enjoys it.
Bhai Nand Lal Ji have written the maryada to prepare Karaah Prashaad:

Nihung Singhs prepare “karaah prasaad” degh based on this maryada. They prepare degh in Sarabloh utensils while reciting Japji Sahib and Jaap Sahib. This has been written about in Bhai Desa Singh’s Rehatnamey:

Karaah Prasaad is also referred to as Panchaamrit meaning made out of 5 materials:

(Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Kabitt 124)
Baba Mitt Singh Ji used to prepare degh with a lot of love. They used this maryada and offered the degh to Kalgidhar Maharaj and Mata Ji. They did not put their hands on the degh until the karaah prasaad had been offered to Maharaj.
After offering Karaah Prasaad to Maharaj, Nihung Singhs do three distributions to Aad, Dasam, and Sarbloh Granth then five distributions to Panj Piaare, and one distribution to a well, sarovar, stream, or river. One distribution would also be offered at the Nishaan Sahib. Mahakaal Singhs (Farladhari Nihung Singh) are given double distribution.
