ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਨਮੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਸੂਰਜੇ ਨਮੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰੇ ॥

Namaskaar to You, Oh Sun of the suns;
Namaskaar to You, Oh Moon of the moons

Namaskaar to You, Oh the Creator of Chaos (and) the Form of Peace

⁵ No one can look at a storm and see that the cause of this is the sun [weather is related to the relationship with earth and the sun]

Namaskaar to You, Oh the Glory among the Glorious and the One who is free from wealth from the beginning [of time]

ਕਲੰਕਾਰ ਰੂਪੇ ਅਲੰਕਾਰ ਅਲੰਕੇ¹ ॥
Kala[n]kaar Roopae Ala[n]kaar Ala[n]kae
The Cause of Beauty and the Form of Decoration/Ornament among decorations/ornaments
¹ Kal = Beauty; peace; Ala[n]kae = Form of Decoration; A) Kala[n]kaar = the remover of blemishes; meaning, bad actions cause blemishes and bhakti causes glory/praise
ਨਮੋ ਆਸ ਆਸੇ² ਨਮੋ ਬਾਂਕ ਬੰਕੇ³ ॥
Namo Aas Aasae; Namo Baa[n]k Ba[n]kae
Namaskaar to You, Oh the Form of Desire among desires;
Namaskaar to You, Oh the [One with] Beautiful Words
² In [common] Punjabi, Aas wishes/desires; if the Paath is ‘Aasy’ then the meaning is mouth (Sanskrit, Aasy = Mouth); A) You are the Fulfiller of Desires
³ Ba[n]kae = the One looking from corner of eye (Baak=) who’s speech is;

[Your] Form is unbreakable, free from a body (and) free from having a name

The Destroyer of the three tenses (past, present, future) and the three realms (Heavens, Hells, and Earth);
Free from having a body and free from desires

[You are] free from taking birth
[You are] Unwavering/Unmoving/Stable

[You are] free from being destroyed;

[You are] free from kaal [time/death]

[You are] outside of writing or having a written Karmic account
[You are] free from having a form or look/garb/dress

ਅਨਾਮ ॥ ਅਕਾਮ ॥
Anaam; Akaam
[You are] free from having a name;
[You are] free from having desires
ਅਗਾਹ¹ ॥ ਅਢਾਹ² ॥੧੯੩॥
Agaah; Atdaah
[You are] without a place;
[You are] Uncrossable/Unreachable
¹ The depths of whom cannot be found; who cannot be reached
² without a bank/shore/limit (Tdaahaa=bank)

ਅਨਾਥੇ³ ॥ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਥੇ ॥
Anaathhae; Pramaathhae
[You are] without a Master;
[You are] free from being broken into pieces
³ meaning; there is no one besides Vaheguru
ਅਜੋਨੀ ॥ ਅਮੋਨੀ⁴ ॥੧੯੪॥
Ajonee; Amonee
[You are] free from taking birth;
[You are] the Master of Baanee
⁴A+Monee= who cannot be quiet; the Speaker

ਨ ਰਾਗੇ ॥ ਨ ਰੰਗੇ ॥

[You] do not have emotional attachments nor colours

ਅਕਰਮੰ ॥ ਅਭਰਮੰ ॥
Akaram[ng]; Abharam[ng]
[You are] free from doing actions;
[You are] free from ignorance
ਅਗੰਜੇ ॥ ਅਲੇਖੇ ॥੧੯੬॥
Aga[n]jae; Alaekhae
[You are] Indestructible;
[You are] outside of writing or outside of Karmic accounts

Namaskaar to You, Oh who are Worthy of Bowing Down/Revering to;
The Destroyer of All
¹ PraNaam = Namaskaar; if the Paath is PariNaam then it means the one which changes
ਅਗੰਜੁਲ ਅਨਾਮੇ² ਸਮਸਤੁਲ ਨਿਵਾਸੇ³ ॥
Aga[n]jul Anaamae Samasthul nivaasae
[You are] free from being destroyed; free from having a name; who resides within everyone;
² Anaam=free from having a name; Anaamy=free from disease
³ Omnipresent
ਨ੍ਰਿਕਾਮੰ ਬਿਭੂਤੇ⁴ ਸਮਸਤੁਲ ਸਰੂਪੇ ॥
Nrikaam[ng] Bibhoothae Samasthul Saroopae
[You are] free from desires (then Master of all) wealth (and) [the One] who takes on all Forms
⁴ or, whose wealth is desireless
ਕੁਕਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਸੀ ਸੁਧਰਮੰ ਬਿਭੂਤੇ⁵ ॥੧੯੭॥
Kukaram[ng] PraNaasee Sudhharam[ng] Bibhoothae
[You are] The Destroyer of bad karam/actions; Blesser of good karam/actions
⁵ You attach [weight] (originally wealth but daas interpreted as material, as in worldly glory) to those with the Highest Dharam

ਸਦਾ ਸਚਦਾਨੰਦ ਸਤ੍ਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਸੀ¹ ॥
Sadhaa Sachdhaana[n]dh Sathr[ng] PraNaasee
(You are) always Sat-Chit-Anand (and) the Destroyer of Enemies
¹ Sath[i]+Chith+Ana[n]dh=Sachdhaana[n]dh; The Description of Paramaatmaa’s Nature
ਕਰੀਮੁਲ² ਕੁਨਿੰਦਾ³ ਸਮਸਤੁਲ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ॥
Kareemul Kuni[n]dhaa Samasthul nivaasee
[You are] The Creator of the Merciful and the One who resides within everyone
² Arabic, Karam=Blessing; Kareem means the One who blesses
³ Kuni[n]dhah=The Doer/Creator; meaning You are the Creator of the Compassionate/Merciful
ਅਜਾਇਬ ਬਿਭੂਤੇ⁴ ਗਜਾਇਬ ਗਨੀਮੇ ॥
Ajaaeib Bibhoothae Gajaaeib Ganeemae
(Your) Material/Maya/Wealth is Wonderful and the One who acts Furiously towards the Enemy;
⁴ Mastery; Wealth, Treasure; Spiritual Power
ਹਰੀਅੰ ਕਰੀਅੰ ਕਰੀਮੁਲ ਰਹੀਮੇ ॥੧੯੮॥
Hareea[ng] Kareea[ng] Kareemul Raheemae
[You are] The One who takes away/Destroys, the Creator; Compassionate [and] The One who acts with Mercy

ਚੱਤ੍ਰ ਚੱਕ੍ਰ ਵਰਤੀ ਚੱਤ੍ਰ ਚੱਕ੍ਰ ਭੁਗਤੇ ॥
Chathr Chakr Varthee Chathr Chakr Bhugathae
[You are] present in all four corners and enjoy all four directions
ਸੁਯੰਭਵ² ਸੁਭੰ ਸਰਬਦਾ ਸਰਬ ਜੁਗਤੇ² ॥
Suai[m]bhav Subh[ng] Sarbadhaa Sarab Jugathae
[You are] Self-Existent and is Emanating Glory and is always connected to everyone
¹ Suthae Prakaash = Self-Radiating
² or, the One who connects everyone/thing together;
or, united; the union of attributes and the fruits that follow from this
ਦੁਕਾਲੰ³ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਸੀ ਦਇਆਲੰ ਸਰੂਪੇ ॥
Dukaal[n]g PraNaasee Dheiaal[ng] Saroopae
The One who stops the two times;
The One who is the Form of Compassion
³ Du+Kaal = Two Events of Life and Death are quite scary;
It is Kartaar (Doer) who protects us from this; Dukhaal=Death Time. bad time
ਸਦਾ ਅੰਗ ਸੰਗੇ ਅਭੰਗੰ ਬਿਭੂਤੇ ॥੧੯੯॥
Sadhaa A[n]g Sa[n]gae Abha[n]g[ng] Bibhoothae
[Vaheguru] is always as close as our own limbs and
Free from destruction; wealth/material belongs to Vaheguru (or Vaheguru takes on this Form)
